It started in the most unlikely (but classicly proven!) of places….. a bar. He liked the odds, she liked the atmosphere. They both liked each other. :)

What started in a neighborhood bar, is preparing to take this lovely duo to a new city–yet to be determined as hopeful job assignments hang in the balance of what is yet to come. What an exciting (but understandably nerveracking) place to be!

I don’t know if I can reveal Ben’s career aspirations (confidentiality?) but they are exciting to say the least. These two will be hanging on for quite the ride! Luckily, I caught up with them in Omaha for their engagement session on what was a cold, hazy day. They were great sports and happily put up with frozen fingers and cold toes! Thanks guys!

Yay for the first love shoot (engagement photo session) of 2010!

Matt & Stacie came over last week to play outside while I tagged along with my camera (always happy to be the third wheel!). The sun wrapped all three of us with a buttery-tinged yumminess that gives these images a feeling of warmth despite the wintery temperatures (and their lack of snowpants!). I’m glad they looked adorable…. it makes up for my public fashion embarrassment… decked out in snow pants, a goofy hat, and multiple mis-matched coats. Too bad we didn’t snag a shot of that! Ha!

I also thought I’d experiment with a new possible blog tag…. thoughts? It’s probably not ‘regulation’ to preview this stuff before it’s finished…. but…. at that rate, it might be 2011 before I decide on stuff… (too many possibilities!) and who has time for that? Anyway, I’m all ears if you have an opinion!

Matt was so great at maintaining eye contact with the camera. Sometimes this proves a challenge for folks…. but Matt was a pro!

Ashley and Jason brought their two furry &  four-legged kiddos to their recent love shoot. I was astonished by their incredible behavior! :) People often like to bring their pets, which I’m always game for, though I can never be sure quite what to expect. These two pups were quite the charmers, to say the least!

I was thrilled when Stephanie (brilliant blogger bride) asked me to design the ’save the date’ announcements for her and Lance. I had waaaaaaaaaay too much fun and after creating an avalanche of possibilities…. I landed on this, and knew it was ‘it!’ I LOVE the image on the back. Thanks for your trust you two!

Jennifer and Nick’s wedding is coming up next September… so in preparation for their big day, we headed out for an engagement shoot on a super glorious afternoon.  These are some quick faves!

Getting to do work for people who appreciate photo art is a huge thrill. Eric has an eye for photography all his own…. so when he and Emily asked me to be their wedding photographer, I was pumped. They view photography as a critically important part of their day, so you can imagine how honored I am to know that such discerning clients chose yours truly to capture their wedding memories. :) Even better? It’s coming up right around the corner in November! We managed to work in the love shoot just in time!

Eric is quite the romantic. He was so excited to propose that he popped the question before he had Emily’s ring… so he made a stand-in out of purple pipe-cleaner to seal the deal in the meantime. :) How cute is *that?* (seen below)

Wow-sa! This couple is on fire. I am *so* excited for their big day coming in only a matter of weeks! See you soon guys!

I love when clients (especially cutie pies like Dani + Adam!) are up for a photo adventure! This marked the last year that the Nebraska State Fair would be held in Lincoln before moving to Grand Island…. and what better way to bid it farewell than with a love shoot? :) These are too fun!!!!

I have to say…. this was a *hard* shot to get! Ha! I was sitting behind them on the ferris wheel and not only were we both moving, but watching the world whirl by through the lens of a camera while being in constant motion is a recipe for losing your lunch… ha! It was a close call, but I love that we made it work! (Special thanks to the awesome fair peeps who were so good to us!)

Ok. So…. Stephanie + Lance are too fun! Where do I start? They live in Salt Lake City, UT but are having their wedding here in dear ol’ Lincoln, Nebraska next summer and yours truly has the honor of being their wedding photographer. On top of being a total cutie…. Stephanie is also a blogger! You can see her witty writing and follow her wedding-planning pursuits on her blog, but know that she’s so funny and clever, you might get hooked! :)

To say that Abbi + Ben’s shoot was fun would be a grotesque understatement! In Abbi’s own words, here is the email she sent me:

“Ice cream is part of our history – We were HS sweethearts who didn’t make it past first semester at UNL. However, on Valentine’s day of my senior year, Ben made a phone call that reset the course of our lives. He asked if I wanted to get some ice cream. I said ‘yes’ and the rest is history. It was the best second first date a girl could have asked for.”

How could we NOT go for some cool icy goodness? :)

I guess soft serve is really….. soft. It melted in about .2 seconds. Ha! Next time I’ll know to bring wipes!

Are these two adorable, or what? Haifeng currently lives in Texas… and has been a regular feature at airports jetting back and forth between Texas and Lincoln. They will be together again soon, as their wedding is coming on in only about 3 weeks! (We just recently shot this love session… but so glad we could fit it in!)  :)
